This October, we'll spend four weeks turning the material of our own lives, old houses, family stories, former selves, strange memories, people we've lost, places we can't forget, all into ghost stories.
Each week, we'll read, learn a little craft, and spend real time writing together, so you aren't leaving with another list of things you mean to write someday. You'll begin your story in our first gathering and keep following it across the four weeks, playing with memory and invention, atmosphere and the uncanny, until you have a ghost story of your own.
Your story can be true, entirely invented, or somewhere wonderfully in between.
You don't need to be a fiction writer. You don't even need to believe in ghosts. You just need something that still follows you.
GHOST STORIES includes:
Four live 90-minute workshops
Guided writing time during every gathering
Prompts + creative experiments
Workshop recordings
Option to share during the last session
PLUS: A Closing Ghost Story Open Mic
On the final Friday, we'll gather one last time to read our ghost stories aloud (if you choose too), listen to what everyone has made, and close out our strange little month together.
*Each session will include teaching, generative prompts, and writing time, and space to share.
4 Wednesdays October 7th - October 28th from 10am - 11:30am CST, and Friday, October 30th for Open Mic at 10am CST.
